Painting

I tried recently to do some wall painting. And I found out, I am good at physics. And I think I should be doing what I am good at.

Bankless

Today, I closed my bank account at Deutsche Bank.

Until the end of the March, I had the opportunity to hold a youth account. It was for free. Now, as a cease to be student, I would automatically get a grown up account, which costs 5 euro per month. I think and I officially claim it is robbery. The bank should be grateful I keep my money there because that's what enables them to do their business. So if they aren't, neither am I. I'll find myself another bank. A bank that may not have such nice expensive skyscraper headquarters as Deutsche Bank. But one that provides its basic services for free.

It was a nice time, but it's time to move on...

Hills and Deers

Since the very first time I spotted it, I have been amazed by the skyline of Frankfurt. I just get get the feeling I am in a very cool place every time I see it. Over the last years, I have photos of it from various angles. This time, I wanted to make a shot from west, from one of the Taunus hills.

I wasn't that easy because of the forest. But, after a couple of hours erring, I finally found a place where the skyscrapers were visible. Later, I found an even better spot, but by then, the Main valley got foggy.

Besides hunting the Frankfurt view, I spent half an hour trying to catch some deers on the photo. But they always tried to flee as soon as I approached. The picture is not that good, but if you know you are supposed to see a deer on it, you actually may.

Travelling

At the end of March, my student card expires. I will hence loose the opportunity of free travel in Hessen, the one I have taken for granted in the last three years.

As I now have only a few days left, I aim to use the card to its extent and finally make it worth the money I paid for it. At the same time, as the spring has come and the weather gets nice, I want to do some hiking. So that's my plan. I go some place I can reach with the ticket, I hike there for a few hour, and then I get back. I wont probably be able to do so every day, I am not that fit after all. But every second day, maybe...

Inheritance

Finally, on page 583, my C++ textbook arrived at inheritance. It was somewhat confusing to wait for so long. After all, inheritance is supposed to be one of the most useful concepts of an object-oriented language. Once I learned Java, it was introduced much earlier.

Another thing that confused me was the possibility of multiple inheritance in C++. I still recall my Java textbook devoting a whole section to explain why there is no practical way to implement it. And still, C++ does, being, by the way, older than Java. Well, it not like I was unable to imagine a textbook to lie... I can even understand their good intent. Instead of introducing a concept and in the next section declaring it deplicated, useless or just bag programming style (C++ does is all the time), they tried to deny the very existence of the concept. But I am still somewhat confused and... well... disappointed...

Master

Now I finally got it: The piece of paper for the sake of which I have been studying for the last six years. I gotta buy a frame and hang it on the wall.

Surviving Xynthia

I am a Xynthia surviver.

Well, I wasn't that hard. The news are slightly exaggerated. The only thing that happened to us was a neighbor chimney falling down on our garage.
