Mulberries

The mulberry season has come...

Is long as I remember, I always loved them. The problem was, as I lived in the north, I did not have any possibility to enjoy them. These fruits don't hold long enough to be sold in supermarkets. And the mulberry plant just doesn't grow in Sweden.

But here in Darmstadt it does. There is a mulberry garden five minutes away from me. There are plenty of different trees there, and some of them, the black ones, are starting to mature right now. Tonight I have been there to take my first bite this year. Somehow, the Germans did not really get the idea that you can eat things directly from a tree. I think I am almost the only one in the city who does...
