Today I was caught by an anti-Israeli demonstration in the city center. As the marching crowd blocked tram rails, I was stuck at the stop for 20 minutes, watching the heartbreaking pictures of wounded children and listening to the chorus of voices shouting slogans like "The world society is deaf and blind" or "Zionist swine kill children". The speaker exhorted the listeners to break the blockade of Gaza, that he blamed Israel to be the only responsible for.

I am not good at estimating the number of the participants, but I think there were at least a few hundred. About 95 % of them looked to originate from the Islamic countries.

I don´t think an pro-Israeli demonstration would gather so many people in Darmstadt. But I aim to join one in Frankfurt tomorrow. I´ll see what happens.
