По случаю окончания учёбы мне вдруг стало нечем заниматься и я снова принялся за литературу. За последний месяц прочитал пару романов братьев Стругацких, а именно трилогию "НИИЧАВО" и "Трудно быть богом". Книги эти меня так вдохновили, что я сразу решил испытать свои силы и в жанре научной фантастики. Не зря ведь я физик. Поднатужился и придумал неплохой сюжет. Даже не сюжет, а среду, в которой сюжет должен по моей задумке развиваться. Ну ещё более или менее представил себе концёвку. Мне эта история так самому понравилась, что даже показалось жалко работать с ней сейчас, пока я писать-то ещё нормално не умею. Ведь получается у меня всегда совершенно не то, что я изначально задумываю. Жалкое подобие выходит. Мысли хорошие есть, а вот чтобы правильно их выразить меня не хватает. Тем более что я с тех пор успел ещё и "Преступление и наказание" прочитать. После этого писать больше ничего реально не хочется. Слишком высока планка...

Teeth

I have been to the dentist today, for the first time in three years. Last time, the doctor told me there are some initial caries things in my mouth, but nothing that needs to be treated yet.

Over the years, the situation got worse. But I hardly had money for a treatment. Also, living in Germany, I was confused by their health insurance rules, so I never even tried to visit any hospital. Eventually, I could feel three major holes with my bare tongue and a very weak but still annoying pain in one of them, that started when I would eat lots of sweeties and only got worse if I tried to brush it away. Hence, coming back to Stockholm, I found myself asking my parents for a teeth treatment as a Christmas gift.

To my amazement, the x-ray image only revealed one major hole. All the others where still declared to be small and not matured. The three years of mistreatment did not change the picture. I think I should be glad, but I am somehow rather worried. I can't help suspecting that the dentist just failed to notice something...

Kaunas-Stockholm

Now I am once more in Stockholm. I aim to stay here to the end of the year.

This time, the Ryaniar flight flew another strange route. Instead of heading straight northwards from the Hahn airport, as it usually does, the plane started eastwards and flew over Frankfurt (see the picture). I was confused and thought I have taken a wrong aircraft, being now on the way to Kaunas (a neighbor jet was heading this way). I even caught myself thinking of how funny it would be to land in the middle of Lithuania with only 10 Euro and a malfunctioning Visa card in the wallet. It would be a worthy addition to my frequent adventures. But eventually, the flight turned out to be the right one and we landed in Skavsta shortly after the scheduled time.

Slovthing

A few days ago, I have found the new slovak 20 cent coin among my change. This coin starts a new column in my collection. I have had no slovak coins before. Before 2009, actually, no one had.

It was somewhat confusing, because the inscription on the coin said "Slovensko", which I interpreted to mean Slovenia. But the image of a slovenian coin looked completely different. There, they call their country "Slovenija". So I assume "Slovensko" somehow means Slovakia. Confusing, but that's something we need to get used to in the EU.

Одна знакомая немка начала признаваться мне в своей любви к России. Любовь эта, надо признаться, действительно оказалась продвинутой. Фразы "привиет, как деля", "я нье панимаю, русский отшень слошный язик" и "извинитье, как пройти в библиотхеку" далеко не исчерпывали её словарного запаса. Под конец, когда я уже почти поверил, что моя родина моей собеседнице не безразлична, она начала перечислять республики бывшего СССР: Казахстан, Узбекистан, Таджикистан, Чингисхан...

Das falsch buchstabierte Wort "Sebstvertrauen" wollte der Open office spell checker entweder durch Selbstvertrauen oder durch Gottvertrauen ersetzen. Die Wahl hat man ja immer.

Es gibt auf jeden Fall viele Wege, wie man zum Nachdenken gebracht werden kann.
