Ninth post

I am supposed to write nine posts each month. Now, with three hours to go and only eight posts created, I have nothing else to say but: Goodbye April...

Bad Business

On March 25, I wrote about leaving the Deutsche Bank, as they were starting to charge €4,99 per month for the grown-up account. It turned out to be a bad business. Now, as the Internet banking services are gone, I had to pay cash for my last rent. The bank charged €5 for that. Hence, I have lost 1 cent on quitting the bank one month too early. Too bad...

Summer-1

Back to Darmstadt now. It is really warm over here. I could walk out of the plane in a bare T-shirt.

It seems I have got lucky this time as well. The volcano ash increases again the day after my flight.

Spring-3

Slowly,the spring in Stockholm takes in. All the snow is not gone yet, but the sun shines and trees start to get green.

Мысли о Швеции

Живя в Германии, я вёл на этом блоге рубрику "Мысли о Германии". Как видно из названия, я пытался описать там свои мысли и чувства, возникавшие у меня в связи с непосредственным соприкосновением с немцами, их стилем жизни и культурой.

Теперь же, когда мне по всем прогнозам грозит переезд в Швецию, я буду точно так же писать об этой стране. И хотя жить тут мне не впервой, и я вряд-ли смогу заметить тут столько нового для себя, думаю темы для постов появляться будут, так же как в последствие и сами посты.

А пока о сравнении Германии и Швеции. Меня однажды спросили, почему я не хочу возвращаться на север. Не желая обсуждать с задавшим этот вопрос человеком всю глубину его и сложность, я ответил первое, что мне пришло в голову: Там слишком холодно. Тот возразил. Оказалось, он был как-то летом в Швеции и не по наслышке знает, что там может быть жарко. "Вот в этом-то и разница", заметил я. "В Швеции может быть жарко, а в Германии жарко будет обязательно". Верно и обратное: В Германии может быть холодно, в Швеции без этого никак. И то, что сегодня, в конце апреля, весна вдруг закончилась и пошёл снег -- ещё одно тому подтверждение.

Впрочем, чтобы быть довольным мне много не надо. Привыкну и к новым обстоятельствам. Тем более, что пока остаётся надежда, что это не навсегда. На этой высокой ноте я объявляю рубрику "Мысли о Швеции" открытой.

Clouds

Now that most of the flight in Europe are canceled due to a volcano ash cloud from Iceland, I feel lucky having chosen to fly three days ago.

I hope the cloud disappears when the times comes for me to fly back.

Spring-2

Coming to Stockholm is like getting a month back in time. Here, there are still snow and ice to be found. The trees stay naked and the forecast implies temperature below zero at night. The sun shines, but forget getting out without a jacket.

On the other hand, I may have a chance to experience a second spring. If it happens to start in Sweden in two weeks.

Deaming

In the absence of topics to blog about, I start to dream of blogging. This night, I had a very peculiar one.

To begin with, I need to explain the prehistory of the dream. I did not actually have it, but somehow I new it did happen. I while ago, I got a hole in my pants on a certain indecent spot. So one day I sat down to sew the hole up. This is not the peculiar thing yet. I actually do sew my pants from time to time. But this time, instead of putting the needle back to the box where it belongs, I somehow managed to forget it on the inside of the pants close to the indecent spot. Then I used the pants for a week without even noticing the needle.

Now the actual dream comes. I find the needle and I get happy, because I now have a very nice story to tell world through my blog.
